I’ve tried many plant-based milk options, and Oat milk recipe with Thermomix is the easier to make at home, with only oats and water and your Thermomix.

Oat milk has the risk of becoming a bit slimy, which I’ve experienced with other recipes that call for the oats to be previously soaked. This one does not require soaking time, and to me works perfect!

Oat Milk
Equipment
- Thermomix or Food Processor
Ingredients
- 45 grams oats
- 500 grams/ml water
Instructions
- Put the oats and the water in the Thermomix
- Blend for 1 minute at speed 10
- Strain with a fine strainer or a nut milk bag

Oat milk was developed by Rickard Öste, a food scientist at Lund University, based on research on lactose intolerance and sustainable food systems. Öste founded Oatly back in 1994, but it took years to take off.
So it seems that oat milk is Swedish! I can never stop learning (random facts that don’t take me further in life)
Manufactured oat milk has added ingredients, like vegetable oil, that we are not using in our homemade recipe. This extra additions help the processed oat milk foam more and perform on cappuccino making.
The home made version has less calories and is much cheaper, choose what is more important to you.
