Ingredients:

  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: Peppercorns and bay leaves

Instructions:

  1. Place the sliced red onions in a clean glass jar.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Add the optional spices
  3. Pour the vinegar mixture over the sliced onions in the jar, ensuring they are fully covered.
  4. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then seal the jar.
